Autumn is on its way and the nature appears in its most beautiful golden and brown colors.

Gulbene  Municipality History and Art Museum has taken down Artapestry6, packed ready for shipping to Kulturcentrum Ronneby Konsthall, Sweden with arrival October 26th

Gulbene History and Art Museum is located in a county with beautiful cultural landscapes, enriched with manors and castles about 200 km north-east from Riga, and the museum consist of a handful of these manors placed around in a large park.

Artapestry6 has been exhibited in one of these old manor house for two months end July, August and September.

The museum has its main focus on textile arts  and crafts based on two local famous  Art Nouveau artists named Julius Straume and Julius Maderniks – masters of applied arts of Latvia, who were born in Gulbene.

The aim is to make Gulbene History and Art Museum to an important Textile Art and Crafts Center.

Artapestry6 participate in a greater event The 4th  International Art Festival and International Conference devoted to “Two Julius” organized of the museum and the Gulbene Municipality Council  and took place July 30th  to 31 th. .

Furthermore you could see other exhibitions, e.g a very fine one of talented Latvian tapestry-artists works.


Kulturcentrum Ronneby Konsthall

Next venue is Kulturcentrum Ronneby  Konsthall in South Sweden and the opening of Artapestry6 will happen  Saturday,  November13th 2021 –  the doors will be open 11h00.

Kulturcentrum Ronneby Konsthall consider reintroducing an official opening 13h00 , since restrictions are cancel. We will inform you about the decision.

Ronneby is an old Spa-town and the autumn season in Sweden is fantastic.

Kulturcentrum Ronneby Konsthall is Kockums  former enamel-ironworks factory, typical architecture which provides a magnificent roof light, there is a gift for all kind of  exhibitions.

Central Finland Museum, Jyvaskyla, Arch Alvar Alto

The 4th and last venue in Artapestry6 touring will take place in the Museum of Central Finland, Jyväskylä from the June 4th to September 4th 2022 .

Jyväskylä is Architect Alvar Alto’s hometown and  you can see his exciting architecture and design in The Alvar Alto Museum, it is a visit worth.

The opening will be marked by a seminar organized in collaboration between Finnish tapestry-artists Ariadna Donner, Aino Kajaniemi and the museum.
